#1: National Museum of Anthropology
Not only is it the largest and most visited museum in Mexico, there’s history for everyone – The museum covers a range of history from significativo archaeological and anthropological artifacts. Our favorito is the Stone of the sun! (also known as the Aztec calendar stone).
Tip : Located on Paseo De La Reforma, one of the most popular strips in Mexico city where the Angel of Independence is located! Make sure to get a shot of the gold-painted angel.
#2 : Chichén Itzá
Chichén Itzá is a world-famous complex of Mayan ruins on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. A massive step pyramid known as El Castillo! It is in an ancient city, which thrived from around 600 A.D. to the 1200s. Graphic stone carvings survive at structures like the ball court, Temple of the Warriors and the Wall of the Skulls. Nightly sound-and-light shows illuminate the buildings’ sophisticated geometry. No wonder it is one the new seven wonders of the world!
El Cielo Tip : On the way there, stop over at one of the magical cenotes for a dip to cool off.
#3 : Pyramid of the Sun – Teotihuacan
The Pyramid in the far left of this image is the largest building in Teotihuacan and one of the large in Mesoamerica!!! It is believed to have been constructed in 200 CE!
El Cielo Tip: If you’re feeling adventurous, climb up the pyramids for some amazing scenery too!
#4 : Palacio de Bellas Artes
The Palacio de Bellas Artes is a prominent cultural center in Mexico City. It has hosted some of the most notable events in music, dance, theatre, opera and literature and has held important exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photography.
El Cielo Tip : Keep an eye out for all the delicioso street food available around this gem! It is the ultimo destination for tacos, maize with queso & salsa!
#5 : Cancún
Cancún, a Mexican city located on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea – known for its beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife. There is two main área’s: El Centro ; the more traditional downtown area, and Zona Hotelera, full of beachfront strip of high-rise hotels, nightclubs, shops and restaurants. Cancun is also famoso for students during university’s’ spring break period and has one of the best beaches in the world!
